Synopsis:
The Secret Writing of Sumaúma is an artistic research and an intercultural and inter-species dialogue with the Sumaúma tree, present, above all, in the Amazon. Video essay presented at CARPA7 | Performing Arts Research Center (Tutke) and at Theater Academy at the Colloquium on Artistic Research: Elastic Writing in Artistic Research, organized by Uniarts Helsinki, Finland, August 2021.

A escrita secreta da Sumaúma é uma pesquisa artística e um diálogo intercultural e inter-espécie com a árvore Sumaúma, presente, sobretudo, na Amazônia. Vídeo-ensaio apresentado no CARPA7 | Performing Arts Research Center (Tutke), Theatre Academy, no Colloquium on Artistic Research: Elastic Writing in Artistic Research, organizado pela Uniarts Helsinki, da Finlândia, em agosto de 2021.
Mini bio:
Laura Castro is a poet, performer and professor at UFBA with research interests in cross literature and different material possibilities of writing. Her work is influenced by epistemologies of indigenous peoples in Brazil.
Candice Didonet is an artist of the body and professor at the Department of Performing Arts at UFPB. Her research interests intersect writing and performance, bringing cosmopolitical images to the choreography.
Laura Castro é poeta, performer e professora da UFBA. O seu interesse de investigação são a literatura cruzada e as diferentes possibilidades materiais da escrita. Atualmente, o seu trabalho é influenciado por epistemologias de povos indígenas no Brasil.
Candice Didonet é artista do corpo e professora no Departamento de Artes Cênicas da UFPB. Seus interesses de investigação cruzam a escrita e a performance, trazendo imagens cosmopolíticas à coreografia.
