Synopsis:
Terrestrial brings a series of intimately ethereal moments with the natural world filmed with an iPhone during meditative ritual practices sensitive to the subtle language of the more than human world. The work aims to privilege the perspective of the Earth, smoothly merging human presence with the landscape. Terrestrial highlights the complex magic that surrounds us and our interconnection – not just physically – but emotionally and spiritually with this biosphere.

Terrestre traz uma série de momentos intimamente etéreos com o mundo natural filmadas com um iPhone durante práticas rituais meditativas com sensíveis à linguagem sutil do mundo mais que humano. O trabalho visa privilegiar a perspectiva da Terra, fundindo a presença humana suavemente à paisagem. Terrestre destaca a complexa magia que nos cerca e nossa interconexão – não apenas física – mas emocional e espiritualmente com esta biosfera.
Mini bio:
Faith Johnson is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist based in Boston/USA, She hold an MFA from Tufts University, where she received the Rose Hill Performance Award. She has shown her work at the Open Festival in China, the Navinki Festival in Belarus and the Tactile Bosch Gallery in Wales. Johnson has been a visiting professor at Lesley, Northeastern, Oklahoma, Northern Iowa and Harvard universities. Recently, she was recently accepted as an artist-in-residence at the Arteles Creative Center in Finland.
Faith Johnson é uma artista interdisciplinar premiada sediada em Boston/EUA com um MFA da Tufts University, onde recebeu o Rose Hill Performance Award. Mostrou seu trabalho no Open Festival na China, no Navinki Festival na Bielorrússia e na Tactile Bosch Gallery no País de Gales. Foi professora visitante nas universidades de Lesley, Northeastern, Oklahoma, Northern Iowa e Harvard. Recentemente foi aceita como artista residente no Arteles Creative Center na Finlândia.
