Synopsis
Birth is a video work based on filmed footage from a handmade feather cloak by Rebecca Lenaerts. The texture and movement of the feathers melt together with the visceral handcrafted digital sound of Atom™ and the poetic imagery of Sophie Vanhomwegen. The viewer is transported by the friction between the digital and nature, between observation and imagination, and between the tactile and the visceral.

Bio
Rebecca Lenaerts is a Belgian artist, working and living in Brussels. Hybridity and the crossover between theatre and other artistic disciplines is a constant in her artistic journey. Strongly inspired by the practice of Japanese Butoh, dance of transformation, she develops work in which she explores her presence and vulnerability in a performative space. Still a bird is her first solo performance in which she allows herself to be a dancer and explores her own Butoh dance.

Birth é um trabalho de vídeo baseado em imagens filmadas de um manto de penas feito à mão por Rebecca Lenaerts. A textura e o movimento das penas se fundem com o som digital artesanal visceral de Atom™ e as imagens poéticas de Sophie Vanhomwegen. O espectador é transportado na fricção entre o digital e a natureza, entre a observação e a imaginação, entre o táctil e o visceral.

Bio
Rebecca Lenaerts é uma artista belga que vive e trabalha em Bruxelas. A hibridez e o cruzamento entre o teatro e outras disciplinas artísticas é uma constante no seu percurso artístico. Fortemente inspirada pela prática do Butoh japonês, dança da transformação, desenvolve trabalhos em que explora a sua presença e vulnerabilidade num espaço performativo. Still a bird é a sua primeira performance a solo em que se permite ser bailarina e explora a sua própria dança Butoh.
