Synopsis
Although my rewinding act ends there, it demonstrates that it naturally originated from there. The Gobi encompasses boundless vastness and gives a sense of spaciousness without thought. The landscape is deserted and arid, yet has a notion of containing immense water within. The performance, which begins with the change of seasons and the act of picking up and collecting snakes floating in the water, appears contradictory, yet it speaks of its nature. The snake represents the world that we don’t know but are able to communicate through our sense of intuition, and it’s named Lus or Naga, the deities of the underworld and waters. This act, which demonstrates nature, its balance, the interrelationship of the universe, human existence, and the endless desire and nature of human beings, exhibits the idea that everything is rewound back at the end.”

Anunaran.J, born in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, is a contemporary artist who has been working on mixed media painting, installation, and performance art. She holds a Bachelor`s degree from the Mongolian University of Arts and Culture in 2009 and a MA degree in 2013. She is a doctoral student in Art history at the National University of Mongolia since 2013. Anunaran.J performed in China, Korea, Japan, Nepal, Russia, France, UAE, Sweden, Belgium, and Germany and held ten solo exhibitions in Korea, Russia, and Mongolia.

“Embora meu ato de rebobinar termine aí, ele demonstra que naturalmente se originou a partir daí. O Gobi abrange vastidão sem limites e dá uma sensação de amplitude sem pensamento. A paisagem é deserta e árida, mas tem a noção de conter imensa água no seu interior. A performance, que começa com a mudança das estações e o ato de pegar e recolher cobras que flutuavam na água, parece contraditória, mas fala de sua natureza. A cobra representa o mundo que não conhecemos, mas somos capazes de nos comunicar através de nosso senso de intuição, e é chamada de Lus ou Naga, as divindades do submundo e das águas. Este ato, que demonstra a natureza, seu equilíbrio, a inter-relação do universo, a existência humana e o desejo infinito e a natureza dos seres humanos, exibe a ideia de que tudo é rebobinado no final.”

Anunaran.J, nascida em Ulaanbaatar, Mongólia, é um artista contemporâneo que trabalha com pintura em mídia mista, instalação e arte performática. Ela é bacharel pela Mongolian University of Arts and Culture em 2009 e mestre em 2013. Ela é doutoranda em história da arte na National University of Mongolia desde 2013. Anunaran.J se apresentou na China, Coréia, Japão, Nepal, Rússia, França, Emirados Árabes Unidos, Suécia, Bélgica e Alemanha e realizou dez exposições individuais na Coréia, Rússia e Mongólia.
