Synopsis
Establishing a strong connection between nature, the Self, and the community, this film is about a specific multi-generational knowledge system of a country boat-making process suffering from the climate crisis on an island of the Brahmaputra river in Assam. The film ends with a devotional prayer about the boat as a metaphor for crossing over from this life to the unknown. Against the backdrop of the culture and climate crisis, this work is provoked by a vanishing form of boat construction.

Bio
Shilpika Bordoloi is a choreographer, director, teacher, curator, and performer. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Brahmaputra Cultural Foundation (BCF). Shilpika also works in the pedagogical development of the curriculum of Performing Arts in India. Shilpika has been awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Contemporary/Experimental Dance in India. Currently she is exploring the broad umbrella of Body Wisdom where healing modalities, stage work, screen work and community work intersect in a multi-dimensional way.

Sinopse
Estabelecendo uma forte conexão entre a natureza, o Self e a comunidade, este filme é sobre um sistema de conhecimento multigeracional específico de um processo de fabricação de barcos em um país que sofre com a crise climática em uma ilha do rio Brahmaputra em Assam. O filme termina com uma oração devocional sobre o barco como metáfora para a passagem desta vida para o desconhecido. Tendo como pano de fundo a crise cultural e climática, esta obra é provocada por uma forma de construção de barcos em extinção.

Bio
Shilpika Bordoloi é coreógrafa, diretora, professora, curadora e performer. É fundadora e Diretora Artística da Fundação Cultural Brahmaputra (BCF). Shilpika também trabalha no desenvolvimento pedagógico do currículo de Artes Cênicas na Índia. Shilpika foi premiado com o Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar para Dança Contemporânea/Experimental na Índia. Atualmente, ela está explorando o amplo guarda-chuva da Sabedoria Corporal, onde modalidades de cura, trabalho de palco, trabalho de tela e trabalho comunitário se cruzam de maneira multidimensional.
