Mabalane JorgeNdlozy



Mabalane Jorge Ndlozy is a dancer from Mozambique trained in traditional and contemporary dance. He also plays the timbala and drums.

He studied with international choreographers such as George Kumalu, Thomas Auers, David and Máte Zamborano, Boy Zei Tsekuana, Daisy Renzy, Sofisso, Kudos, Francesco Camacho and Luis Filipe and improved his work in residences at Culturarte Moçambique, PARTS School in Mark Theater (South Africa).

Ndlozy joined the companies Cultuarte, Tingoma to Tsamba, Nhacatandewa and, for 14 years, the Municipal Company of Chant and Dance of Matola. In these groups he also acted as an instructor. In addition he applied his knowledge in dance in projects directed to people with special needs.

As choreographer he created works like Speaking of Me, In Layers, Two for One, The Fish, among others. He has presented his work in festivals and projects in South Africa, Germany, Belgium, France, Libya, Madagascar, Nigeria, Portugal, Swaziland and Tunisia.

Under the direction of Maura Baiocchi he acted in Xiphamanine – place of the eternal origin of the mphma tree on the occasion of the Matola-Brazil cultural exchange. Currently, as a guest of Taanteatro Companhia, he participates in 1001 Platôs, a performance that integrates the Taanteatro 25 Anos project contemplated by the Municipal Program of Promotion to the Dance for the City of São Paulo.
